MONDAY 21st January - 24 weeks to go

Miles last week : 70(70 road,0 indoor)
Weight : 15st 6.6lbs (-3.2 lbs!)
Body fat : 27.6% (-0.4%)
Tantia body type 2 (obese)

Weight up and down like a Whores Drawers this week - even hit 15st 4lbs mid week, though that was mainly due to a trip to the hospital for a minor procedure which meant no food or water all day. But then Friday breakfast of bacon butties, lunch at Gordon Ramsey's pub in Docklands (see photo) followed by an evening curry in Farnham pushed things up a bit. But then a couple of days cycling interspersed with a 25th wedding anniversary party (no alcohol still!) made a difference.

Fantastic ride on Saturday over to the party - cycled up Leith Hill and then onto Box Hill - 45 miles in all with a lot of difficult hills (see map that misses out the last 5 or 6 miles for some reason).

Box Hill in particular is well worth trying, 1.5 miles at a very constant gradient of about 7%. Took me 11 mins 24 secs to get up. By end of May last year Rich (see blog link at the side) did Box Hill in 6mins 30 secs, so someway to go yet! However, I'm under the impression that Tourmalet is just over 10 miles at an average of 7.5%, if that is the case then its only 8 Box Hills, or at my pace only an hour and 20 mins. Must have got the calculation wrong???

On Sunday an easy 20 mile cycle back from the hotel, which was just as well as I was feeling fairly knackered.

You realise that's a stone off since the blog started - well done! Im day 17 off the booze but its been too wet/windy on the road.

Any further thoughts on the Oregon coast leg?
